About The American Renewal Contract
The American Renewal Contract is a citizen-led proposal for strengthening the country's economic security, individual liberty, and public integrity through a collection of practical legislative reforms.
Rather than presenting one large agenda, the contract organizes its proposals into three pillars and ten acts so each topic can be explored on its own merits.
A Different Approach
Most people only encounter legislation after it has already been written. This project starts earlier. Its goal is to help citizens understand policy proposals, think through their tradeoffs, and develop informed positions before asking elected officials to act.
We are building a civic project around the idea that citizens should not enter the legislative process only at the very end, after parties, consultants, lobbyists, and institutions have already shaped the choices. The American Renewal Contract is an attempt to begin the legislative process with citizens themselves: to let ordinary people study proposals, form judgments, and help direct democratic life more intentionally.
In that sense, this is an experiment in self-directed democracy. It is not a party site, a campaign site, or a news site. It is a place for citizens who want to engage legislation seriously and participate earlier, more clearly, and more responsibly in shaping what government should do.
How It Works
Each act can be explored at your own pace. We invite you to use the conversation guides with your preferred AI assistant to better understand the proposal, ask questions, then record where you stand.
Individually, a stance is one person's view. Collectively, thousands of stances reveal what citizens actually support. Those results can then be compared with the positions of candidates and elected officials, giving voters a clearer picture of who represents them and giving representatives a clearer picture of the people they serve.
Looking Ahead
The American Renewal Contract is intended to be more than a collection of policy ideas.
Over time, it will become part of a broader civic platform that helps citizens compare proposals, evaluate legislation, and better understand how government actions align with the principles they support.
